TN Department of Safety Handgun Safety Course

Classes are taught by one of our Certified NRA and Tennessee State Handgun Safety Program Instructors.

Cost $75.00 Per Person

Function and Operation

Firing Range Exercises
Legal Aspects of Carrying a Handgun

Requirements:

Valid Tennessee Drivers License

Handgun

Holster(belt or paddle preferred) or gun case/pouch

Belt for placement of holster

Hearing Protection

Eye Protection

50 Rounds of Factory Loaded Ammunition (Reloaded ammunition is acceptable only if it is of commercial manufacture)

Paper and Pencil

Bag Lunch and Snacks (Refrigerator available and water bottles provided)

* Tennessee State Requirements:

The State of Tennessee requires the students to submit the original handgun course application online.

When submitted the student will immediately receive a confirmation number. The student will need to print the confirmation and retain it through the entire process.

Even though a person has a permit and is authorized to possess or carry a firearm pursuant to TCA 39-17-1315 or 39-17-1351, there are restrictions as to where firearms may be carried. Course Completion
